locksmith, Inn presents Man Lok, LAW: WOOFERTEN (活化廳) The Another Artspace in Hong Kong
On Thursday March 21, 2013 in a coffee shop at the California Institute of the Arts, Man Lok, LAW presented a talk on Wooferten, an artist collective that he co-founded with nine other artists in Hong Kong.
Wooferten operates on government funds to organize a Hong Kong community, question the political powers that be, and create a space for protest. Man Lok, LAW is a conceptual artist, art advocate, curator, critic, and educator. He received a BFA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and an MFA from Goldsmith College. He is known for his critical artworks, which often involve the mass-mobilization of people. His work has been featured in numerous local and international group exhibitions and he has gained prominence among the local arts circle as a prolific art writer and critic, receiving attention from Hong Kong's primary media outlets. Man Lok, LAW was recently a Hong Kong Arts Circle Fellow with the Asian American Cultural Council and a resident at the International Studio and Curatorial Program in New York.
